When people talk about blogging the first thing that comes to the mind of most people is that it is one of those cool ways to make money online without working. When people see a particular blogger making thousands of dollars in a single day through the sales of one of his products, the first thing they think is that they can also make that amount and more by building a blog and launching a product. Before starting my nutrisystem and medifast diet blog I also used to think the same way, but over time, I had to face the realization and see things as they really are.
If you’re thinking that blogging is one of those get rich quick schemes available online where you will build a blog and start making thousands of dollars in the next few months while in bed, you need to check yourself and what you believe in. Blogging is great, it is a cool way to build an audience, and it is also ultimately one of the best ways to make a lot of cash online on the long run, but you have to face the reality that the journey is not as smooth or easy as you think. Blogging takes more effort and time than most of us put in, and in this article I will be sharing a few blogging lessons I learned from my nutrisystem and medifast diet blog.
1. Have an End Goal
The first blogging lesson I learned is to have an end goal.
I know it sounds ridiculous, especially if you don’t believe a blog can be a form of business, but the more you see your blog as a business the easier it becomes for you to face the reality.
Many people make the mistake of starting their blog with the belief that things will fall in place over time. The reality is that while things might fall in place for some people, there is no guarantee that it will for you. Don’t be deceived, and don’t expect to be blogging king by doing what everyone else is doing.
Make sure you have an end goal from day one, and make sure you know what you will achieve in any given time.
2. Have a Plan
It is one thing to have an end goal, and it is another thing to look for ways to achieve your end goal. The reality is that a lot of people just create blogs with a goal or set of goals in mind, and they think they are bound to succeed just because they have something in mind.
Your goals don’t matter a bit if you are not going to achieve them, so having goals alone isn’t enough for you as a blogger, you should also focus on brainstorming and creating ways to achieve your goals. In other words, have a plan, and know how you will go about achieving your end goal.
3. Don’t be Afraid to Fail
I know this sounds ironic especially since we are talking about success here, but don’t be deceived; every success is built on a lot of failures. A lot of bloggers make the mistake of thinking that blogging will be an easy journey, and as a result they give up after experiencing their first major problem.
