Are you interested in Sony’s latest devices released after the divorce with Ericsson but don’t want to buy any since they all look like each other? If so, I have good news for you! Sony has announced a new Xperia phone with refreshed looks. Well, it’s not that the Sony Xperia Neo L has really unique appearance – it’s just the refreshed version of the popular Xperia Neo V, plus some features were borrowed from the Xperia PLAY (except for the absence of the sliding joypad).
The new Xperia Neo V is most likely going to be a mid-range device, so it doesn’t sport any ground-breaking features. However, its single-core processor clocked at 1GHz, coupled with 512MB of RAM, is still rather fast, so you want experience any performance problems. It’s also coming with a 4-inch touchscreen, the resolution of which isn’t very high – only 480×854 pixels, which is still not bad for a mid-range phone. The camera is 5MP, able to shoot 720p videos; maybe it’s not that cool compared to the 8 and 12MP cameras of other phones (not to mention the 41MP camera of the Nokia 808 PureView!), but remember, many great phones (like the Samsung Galaxy Ace or even the Samsung Galaxy Nexus) come with similar cameras, and they’re still very good and popular despite anything.
The Sony Xperia Neo V is also going to have a very important feature I should probably have mentioned earlier – it is Sony’s first phone coming with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed (even the flagship Xperia S runs Gingerbread and is waiting for the ICS update).
First of all the device will be launched in China, sold for a rather low price. We don’t know if Sony will bring it to Europe or not, but if they do, I guess this mid-range device will receive a lot of attention there, too – people do love cheap phones with nice design and good features!
