The Blackberry boys were given two new amazing phones by Blackberry very recently. They announced two phones which were Blackberry Bold 9790 and Blackberry Curve 9380. Both the phones are very good and are yet to release but, for the Blackberry boys, choosing between one of them if they want to buy one Blackberry might be a bit difficult. Making the decision easier for them, here I am coming with an anticipated comparison of Blackberry’s latest two phones: Blackberry Bold 9790 vs Blackberry Curve 9380.

Form Factor

Blackberry Bold 9790 – Dimensions are 110 x 60 x 11.4 mm, weight is 107 grams and this phone is touch and type with QWERTY keyboard.

Blackberry Curve 9380 – Dimensions are 109 x 60 x 11.2 mm, weight is 98 grams and this phone is normal touchscreen.

This round is quite easy to get result of. Dimensions favor Curve. Weight favors Curve but the phone type favors Bold. Never the less, 2 is greater than 1 and that’s why Curve is greater than Bold in this round.

Well, another easy round. Fastness is the thing which gets affected by the processor. Now, the processor difference is quite big here. Editing the above round phrase a bit, 1 GHz processor is greater than 806 MHz processor and that’s why Bold is greater than Curve in this round.

There were three factors overall in this round. Both have TFT capacitive touchscreens but Bold has a QWERTY keypad as well. Next, the screen size of Curve is better than Bold. Well, even though Bold has a QWERTY keypad, the decision here is to be made about the display and Curve is better here.

Blackberry Bold 9790 – Internal memory is 8 GB which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. It has a 768 MB RAM.

Blackberry Curve 9380 – Internal memory is 512 MB which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. It has a 512 MB RAM.

Finally! Finally, we are seeing a difference between these two phones. The internal memory difference is quite huge and many people just want maximum 8 GB so if you get Bold, there may be chances that you can store all your data into the phone memory. For this round, Curve is a let down.

Blackberry Bold 9790 – Li-Ion JM-1, Standby: Up to 432 hours and Talktime: Up to 5 hours 10 minutes.

Blackberry Curve 9380 – Li-Ion JM-1, Standby: Up to 360 hours and Talktime: Up to 5 hours 30 minutes

The standard batteries are same but the standby backup has a huge difference of 72 hours. This difference is favoring Bold. There is a difference of 20 minutes in talktime which favors Curve but 20 minutes can’t win over 72 hours.
