Form Factor
Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is a quite large tablet with the dimensions of 271 x 171 x 13 mm. It weighs somewhere around 680grams which is quite heavy. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has got large dimensions too, they are 266.7 x 213.4 x 17.8 mm but its weight is even more, its 952grams! Both of them are 10.1inch tablets, which makes it quite tough for a person to handle it.

The clock speed of the processor of Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 is only 0.2GHz more than that of Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF10. But in a long run, this will eventually prove itself harmful for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF10. Other factors like overclock speed etc are still to be revealed.

The display of both the tablets is good, both of them have got capacitive touchscreen which are indeed really good. But the LED-backlit IPS LCD of Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1 gives it an edge. Other features like Anti-reflective and anti-glare display also helps it in sweeping up this category.

The camera quality of both the tablets is awesome. 5MP primary camera is no joke and I don’t think it will be good to skip this opportunity to purchase it. There is a very less, but deciding, difference between the resolutions of the two cameras. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 seems to click away all gold tonight. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has even got LED flash.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1 – Android OS, v3.0 (Honeycomb), upgradable to v3.2
Both of the devices are having Android OS in them but the versions of Android are different in both of them. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has got Android v3.2 which is generally used in latest tablets and has lots of features and on the other hand Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1has got Android v3.0 which “used to” be the mostly used OS. The one from Asus uses ASUS Waveshare UI and the UI of the one from Panasonic is still not revealed.

There are very limited ways of connectivity in these two tablets and both of them have same features in this category. The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 doesn’t supports 3G,2G, Infrared Port, EDGE, GPRS etc. All what both these tablet support is microUSB v2.0 and Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, EDR.

Memory of the tablets is generally good and so is theirs. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has got 16GB internal memory with 1GB RAM, memory is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Same is the case with Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1.

Battery life of tablets is “generally” not good. In this case Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1 has got a Li-Po (24.4 Wh) battery which keeps it running for 9hrs 30mins on talk time and on the other hand Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has got a Li-Ion 4590 mAh (33.9Wh) battery which keeps it running for 10hrs in the same mode i.e. talk time.
