Panasonic Toughpad FZ A1 vs Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101

Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is a good tablet, feature-wise but when it comes to quality, we can’t say anything, same is the case with Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1. Let us see what happens when both of them will face each other in a showdown!

Form Factor

Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is a quite large tablet with the dimensions of 271 x 171 x 13 mm. It weighs somewhere around 680grams which is quite heavy. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has got large dimensions too, they are 266.7 x 213.4 x 17.8 mm but its weight is even more, its 952grams! Both of them are 10.1inch tablets, which makes it quite tough for a person to handle it.

Processor

Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF10 – Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, with ULP GeForce GPU, and Tegra 2 T20 chipset
Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 – Dual-core 1.2 GHz Marvell processor
The clock speed of the processor of Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 is only 0.2GHz more than that of Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF10. But in a long run, this will eventually  prove itself harmful for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF10. Other factors like overclock speed etc are still to be revealed.

Display

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 – LCD capacitive touchscreen
Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1 – LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen
The display of both the tablets is good, both of them have got capacitive touchscreen which are indeed really good. But the LED-backlit IPS LCD of Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1 gives it an edge. Other features like Anti-reflective and anti-glare display also helps it in sweeping up this category.

Camera

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 – 5MP primary camera, 2MP secondary camera
Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1 – 5MP primary camera, 1.2MP secondary camera
The camera quality of both the tablets is awesome. 5MP primary camera is no joke and I don’t think it will be good to skip this opportunity to purchase it. There is a very less, but deciding, difference between the resolutions of the two cameras. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 seems to click away all gold tonight. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has even got LED flash.

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 – Android OS, v3.2 (Honeycomb)
Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1 – Android OS, v3.0 (Honeycomb), upgradable to v3.2

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 has got Android v3.2 which is generally used in latest tablets and has lots of features and on the other hand Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF1has got Android v3.0 which “used to” be the mostly used OS.
