The Corsair SP 2200 is part of Corsair’s Gaming Audio series of speakers. Corsair SP 2200 speakers deliver a decent 46 watts RMS, the subwoofer pumping out 30 watts and the satellites giving an output of 8 watts each. The woofer is constructed from wood. The power supply in Corsair SP 2200 isn’t built into the subwoofer; you have a separate power supply unit. The bass and volume controls are placed on the right satellite. There are two auxiliary inputs; one 3.5 mm and the other a pair of RCA jacks.

A headphone port is also situated in Corsair SP 2200. The driver grilles are removable for easy cleaning. As a gamer, you would want to hear every sound and every detail, and here, the sound quality is only secondary to sound reproduction. The woofer in Corsair SP 2200 handles the low frequency effects quite well. Bass is punchy and powerful and does not tend to drift much.

However, highs and mids are quite subdued and were drowned out by the bass. Playing tracks in Corsair SP 2200 with a lot of low frequency sounds was a joy as every beat thumped out was nearly perfect. When genres with more of vocals and high pitched instruments were played, the voice would often be muffled and some detail was lost. The overall sound quality in Corsair SP 2200 was constant throughout, not distorting even at the highest of volumes. The Corsair SP 2200 speakers deliver what they promise. It’s great for gaming, but if you’re an audiophile seeking detail and clarity, you will need to look elsewhere.
